Rule Reminder Part 2

Personal attacks are NOT ALLOWED. A personal attack is any comment that is negative toward a persons real life. No matter how mean their role-play character may be to you, there is no excuse to bring their real life into the conversation to attack them. It should have to go unsaid, but due to a sudden increase of people feeling this is for some unkown reason acceptable, that this rule applies to attacking the real life children of players. If you decide you feel it necessary to stoop so low and bring their child(ren) into it, you will instantly be muted for 3 RL days. If after that mute, you continue to make such comments, it will be a week long ban.

Its getting pathetic now. I get if you hate a persons character, but bringing someones kids into it is just downright low. A lot of HLers have kids, myself included. Most of the other parets, Ikow, but to be hinest, there are a lot of RL parents on here who just act like they are 14 year olds with the bull and the lies they tell.

Thanks Spinal. Should be common sense not to do such things, but apparently a reminder was necessary.

People's characters belong to our roleplay world. If you attack their character through roleplay, yeah we understand thats how rp is. But like Jem said. Children in RL are real. Belongs in the reality. If all you gonna do is attack a character you dislike bu bringing in the REALITY... Then it just makes you a bad person. And whoever agrees with whoever brought the real child to a rp site to attack tha person.. I lost total respect for you.

People should also quit trying to pull off saying, 'Oh it's just my character.' when they insult another players rp skills, calling them mentally challenged and bullying them for their typing skills and such when they are just trying to learn. There is no need to be so rude and hold yourself high above ANYONE else. I'm sorry, but the older players on here that I see tending to do this the most to 'the noobs' should know better, and honestly, these players are often the first to run of and complain when they get something dished back at them for it. What can you expect?
Fair is fair, treat others how you want to be treated.
It is never okay to bring the rl children of people into this drama, but just as people are in rl, they are in rp, which today sadly is just immature behavior.
People should take into account that in the real world, you cannot dish out abuse after abuse and expect to not get anything back in return. I've watched this happen many times on here and it's ridiculous.
The bullying on this site has been getting out of hand for quite awhile now.

Thank you for a well-written response to hate, Spinal. There is a vast difference between roleplay and real life, and some people feel the need to unnecessarily cross that boundary.

Thank you for this public service announcement, Spinal!

I have seen a few issues with roleplay on here and am incredibly disappointed that anyone would feel the need to take it so far as to threaten someone's personal life or mental capability.

I am glad that all of this has come to the notice of staffers, which is a few steps away from eliminating the issue altogether.

If you see anyone doing this, I suggest not trying to retaliate and simply to send a respectful owl informing them that you find it disrespectful and kindly ask them to stop. If that does not work, ignore them and leave the situation. A staffer should see the problem arise and take appropriate action.

If you don't like the way someone RPs, it's a very simple matter.

DON'T RP WITH THEM. You're not forced to endure something you don't like! Just politely say, 'No thank you', and move on.

Don't get involved with them. Often times insults are pleas for attention, so don't give them the satisfaction. It only makes things worse, I learned the hard way.

I haven't met someone who broke the rules and insulted people yet. HL seems like a very decent and sophisticated site so good job staff, cheers

I'm serious, I know I haven't been playing a long time but I swear there has got to be at least one person in life who thinks their greater than the rest and tries to make others lesser than himself. Just a thought, I haven't actually seen someone like this.
