Here's the deal...
The NEXT person to threaten another player over a stupid RP family is going to be banned. On Facebook, Skype, Yahoo...wherever.
This has gone on far too long. This is a GAME. If you depend so much on a fake family to make yourself feel so important and badass, get off the internet and get some professional help.
Seriously, people. Having a good time with it without interfering with other people's enjoyment, even making fun of it in a JOKING manner...that's all fine. But when it gets to actual threats and bullying, it's way past the point of acceptable.

I agree with Kalli and Ardarel. I agree that fighting in chats is annoying sometimes, especially when it goes on for ages; however, most people have created RP fb's and RP everything else. There are block buttons, ignore buttons, etc. I know for a fact that people in my family have used said buttons, and have said types of Skype/fb/messengers. Furthermore, we have repeatedly stated that our RP character views are different from our RL views on people. I for one, think that perhaps this blog takes things a bit too far. EVERYONE uses Skype and their messengers to vent and rant, etc. It should not be a big thing.
I think that if we all grew up at little bit, & learned to IGNORE the ones here that annoy us, no matter what they say or do, life here would be a lot better. I mean, you have all said it. IT. IS. A. GAME. If it is such a game to everyone, why the heck is everyone in such a fit over it? Do people really think that someone from a GAME is going to waste time tracking them down? The post may have some good points, and it may have been meant for good, but honestly, what is the point in HAVING an RP site if one is not to be allowed to RP? And that includes fights, etc. No one to my knowledge, at least in MY family has ever said "YOU HAVE TO FIGHT ". Friends back each other up. That is how things work, & honestly, people should be laughing about the RP BS, not whining over it.
I personally try and stay OUT of the drama. As Kalli said, the ones who start things, don't hide behind anyone but themselves, and the ones who start things and hide behind someone else are disowned. If someone makes an RP acct on fb etc, & a comment is made about that person's RP acct, then IT IS RP. People who make RP accts other than on an RP site, for said RP site, should expect RPing to be there. We should not be banned from RPing on an RP site for RPing OFF SITE on our OFF SITE RP accounts. People can block others, or delete the off site accts. The whole bit is stupid. It never should have been an issue. Time for fun

I'm not saying it doesn't happen occasionally, but for the most part, it's all done in an RP style, on off site RP accounts, so I fail to see why there is a huge deal about it, Molly. I was speaking for a majority of people. I'm a #@%$!, and damn straight I'll rip into someone, but it's all a game, and at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter to me what people from a game think of me. I will never meet most of them anyways. Why do people care what people from an online RPG think of them on site or off anyway? It's not like you will ever meet any of them. Just let it go. There will always be someone, somewhere, somehow making your life hell, but they only succeed if you let them. I've found ignoring people, blocking them, and having my friends not tell me what is said about me by anyone that I know doesn't like me does wonders.
I refuse to be punished for something said or done on facebook or a messenger. Staff from HL have no jurisdiction there and those who whine about stuff that happens on there instead of just blocking said attacker apparently must like the drama otherwise they would nip it in the bud.
Just ignore it and move on. Crying about it does nothing but draw more people into the mix and cause what we have now... a big to-do about nothing >.>
way to go witchy, its about time to. and as for jurisdiction ardarel yeah they do, anything you do on another site that refers in any way to hl gives the staff here perfect jurisdiction because it is their site and your posts in other sites damages this ones reputation, i think its just plain cowardly to say stuff on other sites because your to afraid to say it here. i say way to go witchy and keep up the good work
Most people involved are adults as Kalli pointed out, adults shouldn't be there causing drama like a bunch of high schoolers and threatening people online. I'm sure people do block some people after being threatened, but it doesn't change the fact the threat was already made. If you threaten someone IRL you can get in legal trouble, why not online?
Again, I point out that it has been said that THIS. IS. A. GAME. Most, and I do say MOST, of the "threatening" that is being done online "IRL" is done from an RP off site account, and said ABOUT an RP off site account. I'm not saying online action should not be taken, but leave it up to the people who run the outside sources. If someone feels seriously threatened, there is a report button. Use it. Let fb staff handle it. Same goes for messengers. Let AOL/Yahoo/MSN handle the people on their sites. Most of the threats made are empty threats anyway. Everyone has the ability to cause drama, and honestly, if people would stop whining about it, then the drama would probably stop. Honestly, if someone threatens you from online, and you don't see them on a RL basis, you likely have nothing to worry about. Block them, report them, and stop worrying about it.
A problem I noticed was that someone says something on a status or whatever, and someone who is a friend of the person mentioned in the status sees it, goes to the person mentioned and goes all "OMG so and so said this", then more drama starts. Honestly, it is probably done because someone did or said something to make someone mad, and they are venting. Let them vent. Everyone does it. People need to stop taking this issue so seriously. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Everyone will always have someone that does not like them for whatever reason. There will always be people saying things about people. Does that mean that it has to get a response? No. Just let it be, and it will likely go away. I'm sure people have better things to worry about IRL than who is saying what about them online, and why does it matter? Honestly, if someone is going to trash talk you, you don't need them anyway, so just be the better person, and let it go. Again, I say that it is time for people to all grow up a little bit, and have fun. Stop stressing over online BS, and just have fun with your friends.
I have been threatened IRL with someone saying they were going to hunt me down and hurt me (no action was taken by staff for that but... i digress) and there is a vast difference between that and "oh my family is gonna getcha! or "imma attack you with my fangs of doom!". Ignoring is the best course of action.

whoever ruins the game because he thinks his family will just go and back him up in chat is just cowardly. don't do it dudes, you're just gonna end up with a lot of people ignoring you. getting a lot of people against one person isn't brave. it's just cowardly, it's like 10 against 1. you might not have been able to beat them on your own but getting a bunch of people to do it for you means you suck. like getting a slave, and when you start to %$!# them off and then they quit and leave you in the dust, who helps you out?
NO ONE!!!! because if you make other people to do all your dirty work for you, then you're not even gonna get enough experience out of it to do it yourself! whatever you do, your family will not always back you up when you need a rez. they will not always give you all the gold you need. they will not always give you a key to their house.
if you're gonna get GOOD in the game, then you have to start doing things for yourself.

tbh, fighting in chat is one thing and would warrant staff involvement. Outside of HL there are block buttons, use them. It's easy as that. I've used them myself, they work wonders.
