e706ddb3810bce4 (He/Him) is a wizard. He wields a 7" Redwood, Phoenix Feather wand, and a member of the unsorted masses of Hogwarts students just off the train eagerly crowding around the Sorting Hat.

About Me
RP Advice, Circa HL-style:

Let's see... "blah blah blah, game-specific advice"... "distinction of OOC and IC(in character)".. you won't be needing that here, it's all RP... or OOC(out of character). You'll never really know which. Actions are done with /me or with a : prefacing the line, like so.

/me waves
or
: waves

Umm... Here's a direction quote: The first and most important rule of roleplay is that it is not a one-way exercise. It generally requires two people or more to interact, and the idea is to collaborate on what is essentially a spontaneous story. Cooperation and communication are the keys to making it work, but the result will be worth it.

That's not really entirely valid to HL, though. Then the next bit I could steal is entirely alien to HL.

Oh, powergaming! And/or godmodding. Since the thing I'm stealing from calls magic godmodding, we're going to call powergaming godmodding, for these purposes.

"Powergaming is the term for declaring the result of an action that involves somebody else before they can respond. Instead of describing how you're punching someone clear over the bar and watching them smash headfirst into the bottles and start bleeding (you brute!), try describing how you're throwing the punch, hoping to send that person sailing. This gives the other player a chance to react in a way that makes sense for their character."

And then some crap about the tense of your posts. That is, use current-tense instead of past or future.

Oh, and since this is advice for HL, my last piece of wordings are very important: People are %$!#s here and will get on your case if you ignore what they do to you. At least half the people think rank means something when they kill you and the other half won't take your side unless you're really uhh... what's that word... charismatic.
