The Discord Digest

Once a day, the Hogwarts Live Discord server receives a single message summarizing the state of the castle and offering two buttons back to the real game. Nothing in the message can be clicked, tapped, or replied to for a reward. It is a signpost, not a shop counter.

What the Digest Posts

One message, once a day, with two lines and two buttons. The first line reports current House standings. The second is a short dispatch from Hogwarts or Hogsmeade, which changes every day and is accurate in roughly the way a weather forecast is. Below that sit two buttons: Play Now and Support Hogwarts Live. Both lead to HogwartsLive.com and nowhere else.

Play Now

Takes you to a page on HogwartsLive.com. Signed in already? You get the current House standings, each House in its own colors, and a Play Game button back into the game itself. Not signed in? You get two options: create a character or sign in, both handled on the website the way they always have been.

Support Hogwarts Live

Also takes you to HogwartsLive.com. A signed-in visitor goes straight to the VIP Membership office in the Prefect's Lounge, where the membership, the gift options, and the fine print all live. Payments there run through PayPal, exactly like every other donation to Hogwarts Live. An anonymous visitor has to sign in first, because PayPal needs to know whose account to credit.

The donation itself never touches Discord. Discord only shows you the button. PayPal handles the money, and HogwartsLive.com handles the receipt.

What Never Happens in Discord

Discord will never ask for your Hogwarts Live password. Nobody official will message you for it, and nothing on the digest requests it either. Discord collects no payment, hands out no Donator Points for clicking a link, and sells no VIP Membership. Every one of those things happens on HogwartsLive.com, through the same PayPal flow the site has always used, and only after you have actually paid for something. Clicking a button earns you a page load, not a prize.

Unexpected or Broken Links

A Discord link that does not point to HogwartsLive.com, or that asks for anything before it gets you there, deserves suspicion rather than a click. Report it through the game's Petition System so the Department can look into who is impersonating a signpost.

Why the Tag on the Link

Each digest link carries a short campaign tag, remembered in a browser cookie for seven days and nowhere else. It records only that you arrived from a particular Discord message, not your name, your House, or anything you did while playing. Donate within that week and the tag rides along, so the Department can tell which digest messages are worth writing and which ones are just noise. It never changes what anything costs, what you receive, or how PayPal handles the payment; it only tells the ledger where the visit came from.

The Discord digest: a bulletin board that has learned exactly two words, "Play" and "Support," and refuses to learn a third.
