VIP Membership
A standing arrangement with the castle bursar in which you pay real money on a schedule and the castle, in return, agrees to be marginally kinder to you. It is the only thing in the game that costs actual currency on a recurring basis: a subscription, billed through PayPal, that renews itself — monthly or yearly, your choice — until you tell it to stop. While it is active a steady trickle of small advantages arrives on schedule, the way bills arrive, except pleasant.
What It Costs
VIP Membership comes in two tiers, paid in real money through PayPal. Both buy exactly the same perks; they differ only in how often you are charged and in the mark beside your name:
- Monthly — $5.00 per month. PayPal charges you automatically every month until canceled. You wear the ⚡ lightning badge.
- Annual — $50.00 per year. Twelve months for the price of ten — two months free for committing to the longer arrangement — and annual subscribers additionally carry the ⭐ Founding VIP star in commentary.
There is no gold price, no gem price, and no Donator Point price — this is the one place in the castle where the currency is the unglamorous kind you also use for groceries. Billing, payment method, and cancellation are all handled on PayPal's side. The castle simply asks PayPal whether you are still a subscriber and adjusts your fortunes accordingly. Cancel through PayPal and the recurring charge stops; your perks wind down at the end of the period you have already paid for.
What You Get
For as long as the subscription is active, the following accrue:
- 20 Donator Points per real day — dripped in daily, roughly 600 a month. These are earned, not gifted, in the sense that the castle counts real days rather than handing you a lump sum and trusting you to ration it.
- A daily allowance, each game day: +250 gold, +1 gem, and +10 forest turns. A small standing stipend that shows up with each new day, no questions asked.
- 50 Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans every month, delivered straight into your Candy Stash. Some will be chocolate. Some will be earwax. That is between you and the tin.
- 10% cheaper forest healing while active — the field medics quietly knock a tenth off the bill, because you are, after all, a patron.
- One Streak Freeze per month — a single get-out-of-jail token for your login streak, in case real life schedules itself over a game day.
- A badge in commentary — a small mark beside your name announcing your membership. Every active member wears the ⚡ lightning badge, which is rented, not owned: it shines only while the subscription is paid and switches itself off at the next billing check the moment it lapses — no ceremony, no severance, no forwarding address. Annual subscribers also earn the ⭐ Founding VIP star alongside it, and that one has no off switch: once earned it stays lit for good, lapsed or not.
- Your account is never deleted while active — the usual inactivity broom that sweeps abandoned characters out of the records will not touch you for as long as you keep paying. Stop paying and you rejoin the mortal queue.
How the Drip Works
The membership is built around two different clocks, and it pays to know which is which:
- Real days govern the Donator Points. Twenty per real day, every day, whether or not you log in — the points pile up against your account and are waiting when you return.
- Game days govern the daily allowance. The gold, the gem, and the forest turns arrive with each new day in the game, alongside your usual reset.
- The calendar month governs the bulk deliveries: the 50 beans and the single Streak Freeze land once per month.
Nothing here requires a button. The perks attach to your account and apply themselves; your only ongoing duty is to let PayPal keep charging you.
Founding VIP
The ⭐ Founding VIP star is the mark of the annual commitment. It belongs to two kinds of patron: the long-standing supporters who held the original yearly arrangement before any of this had a monthly option, and anyone who today subscribes at the $50/year tier. Monthly subscribers wear the standard ⚡ VIP lightning badge instead. Both unlock the identical pile of perks; the star simply says you paid for the whole year at once. The two badges differ in one important way at the end. The ⚡ lightning badge is a sign of current patronage: let the subscription lapse and it dims, the way the rest of the perks do. The ⭐ Founding star is not. Once earned — whether by the old yearly arrangement or by an annual subscription today — it stays, permanently, a record of having committed to the whole year at least once. You can stop paying and lose everything else and the star remains, which is rather the point of calling it founding.
Gifting
You can also buy a month of VIP for someone else. Their public profile and in-game bio carry a Gift VIP link; follow it and the castle hands you a PayPal button that charges you the standard $5 for a single month — which lands on the recipient's record rather than your own. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: nothing renews, and it spends real money rather than your Donator Points, which it leaves entirely untouched. If the recipient is already a member, the gifted month is simply added to the end of their term, leaving whatever billing arrangement they already have running undisturbed.
Canceling
There are two doors out. Inside the castle, the VIP office carries a Cancel auto-renewal button that instructs PayPal, on your behalf, to stop the recurring charge; or you may cancel the subscription directly from your PayPal account, where a Manage billing in PayPal link will also deposit you. Either door has the same effect: the next charge — whether it falls next month or next year — simply never happens, and you keep every perk through the end of the period you have already paid for. The castle does not confiscate what it has already sold you. Only when that paid term finally runs out does it notice the lapse: the daily drips stop, the lightning badge dims, and your account quietly rejoins the population of characters that can, in principle, be swept away for inactivity. Nothing you have already received — points, gold, beans — is taken back. The subscription buys an ongoing condition, not a deposit.
VIP vs. Donations
The castle has two ways to take your money, and they are not the same.
- Donations are one-off: you give once and receive a batch of Donator Points (and the associated perks) to spend at your leisure. See the Donations page.
- VIP Membership is recurring: a sum billed monthly or yearly that keeps a tap running — daily points, a standing allowance, monthly beans, a Streak Freeze, cheaper healing, the badge, and deletion immunity — for as long as the tap stays on.
Neither is pay-to-win. Both are, fundamentally, a way to keep the servers running while the castle thanks you with conveniences and a shiny mark beside your name.
VIP Membership: proof that even a wizarding bureaucracy will, given a working payment processor, learn to send you a small allowance every morning and a tin of dubious beans once a month.
