Gems are rarer than gold and considerably harder to explain to your parents. This list tracks who has the most, not how they got them, which is generally for the best. The figures are blurred by a few percent for the same reason the gold ones are: the guards at the Inn take gems as readily as coin, and a precise number posted in public is less a ranking than a shopping list.

One caveat the board cannot show: a Voldemort Encounter resets a student to first-year constitution, so this ranks how far into the current cycle somebody is rather than how tough they have ever been.
