Ministry Jobs
Work your way up the bureaucratic ladder at the Ministry of Magic, one memo at a time
What Are Ministry Jobs?
The Ministry Jobs system allows experienced players to gain employment at various departments within the Ministry of Magic. You can work daily shifts for gold, earn experience toward promotions, gossip with coworkers, deal with workplace accidents, and generally experience all the bureaucratic glory (and tedium) of magical government employment. It's like having a real job, except your coworkers are wizards and the paperwork occasionally bursts into flames.
In the Harry Potter books, the Ministry of Magic employed hundreds of witches and wizards across multiple departments, from the important (Auror Office) to the absurd (Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office). In HogwartsLive, you get to experience this workplace yourself, complete with department politics, performance reviews, and the ever-present threat of magical workplace accidents.
Requirements
- Minimum VEs: 7 Voldemort Encounters (default setting) to apply

The Lore
The Ministry of Magic, housed in an underground complex in central London, employed the bulk of the British wizarding community. The books detailed numerous departments and their eccentric employees:
- Arthur Weasley: Worked in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, passionate about Muggles despite low pay
- Percy Weasley: Ambitious Ministry employee who climbed the ladder by being insufferable
- Barty Crouch Sr.: Head of International Magical Cooperation, former DMLE head
- Cornelius Fudge: Rose to Minister through political maneuvering, not competence
- Dolores Umbridge: Senior Undersecretary, proof that bureaucracy can be more dangerous than dark magic
The Ministry was depicted as simultaneously essential and dysfunctional - capable of great things but often hampered by politics, corruption, and an obsession with paperwork. Employees dealt with flying memos, interdepartmental rivalries, office politics, and the constant threat that someone in your department might be Imperiused by Death Eaters. Just typical workplace stuff.
Module Info: It implements a fully functional employment system with multiple departments, job levels, promotions, workplace features, and employee tracking. The module provides both mechanical benefits (daily gold income) and roleplaying opportunities (office gossip, memos, workplace accidents).
