Cooperative Goals & the Season Ladder

Every week your club is handed a single shared task. Meet it together and every member is rewarded; meet the checkpoints along the way and you are rewarded twice. None of it requires dragging anyone new through the door. This page covers the weekly cooperative goal, its milestones, and the cross-club Season Ladder it feeds. For founding a club, ranks, the clubhouse, treasury, wars, and diplomacy, see the Hogwarts Clubs guide; this page assumes you already have a club.

The Weekly Goal

A club holds exactly one active goal at a time, of one of four types. The administration picks which type is live; the target scales with your roster (a per-member figure multiplied by the number of active members, floored at one member so a club of one is never asked for nothing). The goal resets every week, taking your progress, your milestones, and any unspent moral high ground with it.

Goal typeYou advance it byDefault per-member target
Deposit goldDepositing gold into the club treasury20,000 gold
Win fightsWinning fights — any victory, against a rival wizard or a forest creature15 wins
Earn experienceEarning experience through ordinary play25,000 XP
Daily actionsSimply showing up and acting on a given day20 actions

Each member contributes only their own play. A gold deposit credits a deposit goal and nothing else; a fight you win credits a fights goal and nothing else; your experience and your daily appearance credit the XP and daily-action goals respectively. You cannot contribute someone else's gold, claim someone else's kill, or advance the goal by any means other than playing the game yourself.

The deposit goal counts gold that is still in the vault, not gold that once passed through it. If the treasury later spends what you deposited — upkeep, a clubhouse upgrade, war aid sent to a confederate, a lost raid, a claimed Hogsmeade node, patronage for a title, or the goblins simply collecting an overdue bill — the deposit goal's progress falls by the same amount. The goblins keep excellent books; they do not care whose deposit they are unwinding, only that the coin is gone. Deposit and leave it alone if you want the number to stay put.

Milestones

The target is not a single distant wall; it has checkpoints. By default the goal is marked at 50% and 100%, and each checkpoint your club crosses grants 10 season points the first time it is reached that week. Cross both at once with one heroic deposit and you collect both rewards in the same instant, which the bookkeeping permits and quietly approves of.

A checkpoint is awarded at most once per week. Overshooting it, recrossing it after the roster changes, or staring at it very hard does not award it again. The goal view shows which checkpoints are lit and which are still pending, in case you enjoy watching a bar fill, which most do.

Completion & the Shared Buff

Reaching 100% does three things at once. It lights the final milestone (10 season points). It awards a completion bonus of 25 season points. And it starts a club-wide buff: for the next several days (seven by default) every member earns double Voldemort Encounter rewards. The buff is shared the moment the goal is met, whether you personally placed the last brick or were asleep at the time. This is the entire point of a cooperative goal: the member who finishes it and the member who merely belongs both walk away better off.

The Season Ladder

Every milestone, completion bonus, war won, raid landed, and Hogsmeade location held adds to your club's season score. The Season Ladder ranks the top 100 clubs by that score for the current season. Beside each club below the leader sits its points to overtake — the exact number it must gain to pass the club one rung above. The leader, having nothing above to overtake, is told as much. Ties are broken in favor of the lower club id, so the standings never wobble.

At the season's end (monthly) the top club is crowned champion and enshrined permanently in the Hall of Fame; every other club's season score is reset to zero. Your personal progress — levels, Voldemort Encounters, loyalty — is never touched by any of this. The ladder is a record of the season, not a tax on your character. The standings and the Hall of Fame both live on the club's Season & Hall of Fame page.

Progress Comes From Playing, Never From Recruiting

There is, by deliberate design, no goal type that rewards inviting people. You cannot advance a cooperative goal by recruiting outsiders, dragging in alternate accounts, or growing your roster on paper. Every point of progress traces to a member doing something they would have done anyway: depositing, fighting, earning, showing up. A bigger roster raises the target as much as it raises the hands available to meet it, so padding membership buys you nothing but a larger number to climb. The goal rewards a club for playing together, which is the only thing it was ever meant to measure.
