Wizard Card Collecting
Pay 2 gems to George Weasley, drink his "perception potion," and start finding Famous Witch or Wizard Cards hidden throughout Hogwarts Live. Carry up to 5 cards, turn them in for points, and compete for top 3 rankings to share the gem prize pool.
How to Enter
- Visit Contest Corner in the village/market
- Pay 2 gems entry fee (the corner asks you to confirm first)
- Drink George Weasley's perception potion
- Start finding cards as you navigate
Finding Cards
- Cards appear randomly as you navigate pages
- Can carry maximum 5 cards at once
- Daily find limit (typically 9-12 cards per day)
- Can't find cards on same page twice in a row
- Cards shown in character stats as icons or numbers
Scoring
Turn in cards at Contest Corner: 1 card = 1 point. Points accumulate over contest period. Leaderboard shows all contestants ranked by points.
Prize Pool
Total pool = contestants × 2 gems. Contest Corner's own signage advertises a 75/15/10 split, but the ledger that actually pays out runs different numbers when the contest resets:
- 1st Place: 70%
- 2nd Place: 20%
- 3rd Place: 10%
Budget for 70%, not the 75% on the sign. The missing 5 points quietly migrate to 2nd place every reset, which is either a rounding accident or George Weasley's idea of a joke. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Withdrawing
Changed your mind? Contest Corner lets you withdraw. The 2 gems stay in the pot, your carried cards and points are forfeited, the cards stop finding you, and you cannot rejoin until the next contest begins. Nobody gets a refund; the ledger was clear about that.
Contest Resets
Contests run 4-28 days (server configurable), then auto-reset. Prizes awarded to top 3, scores wiped, must re-enter for 2 gems.
Strategy
- Navigate frequently to maximize finds
- Turn in cards before hitting 5-card limit
- Enter early in contest period
- Check leaderboard to track standing
- Final day push if close to prize position
George Weasley's perception potion probably violates Ministry regulations, but when has that stopped a Weasley? Collect cards, compete for glory, win gems.
