Accessing Top Donators

Navigation: Hall of Fame (Champions page) → Student Rankings section → "Top Donators" link

Alternative Path:

• Visit Hall of Fame from village navigation
• Scroll to "Student Rankings" section
• Click "Top Donators" link

Page loads showing current top 10 donators.

What You See

Top Donators Page:

• Numbered list (1-10)
• Player names (colored with name tags/titles)
• Ranked by total lifetime donations (descending)
• Donation amounts NOT shown publicly (privacy)

Example Display:

• 1) PlayerNameOne
• 2) PlayerNameTwo
• 3) PlayerNameThree
• .
• 10) PlayerNameTen

How Rankings Work

Ranking Criteria: Total lifetime donations (stored in accounts.donation field)

Query: SELECT name FROM accounts WHERE donation > 0 ORDER BY donation DESC LIMIT 10

Minimum Threshold: Must have donation > 0 (donated at least once)

Updates: Rankings update in real-time (refresh page to see current standings)

What Counts as Donation

The "donation" field tracks total money donated to the server, typically:

• Direct PayPal/Stripe donations
• Donation points purchases ($$$ → points conversion)
• Server supporter subscriptions
• Fund drive contributions

Each server may track this differently. Check server-specific donation system for details.

Benefits of Being Top Donator

Recognition:

• Name displayed on public Hall of Fame page
• Bragging rights in community
• Visible appreciation for server support

No Gameplay Benefits:

• Ranking is purely cosmetic/recognition
• Does NOT grant extra powers or privileges beyond normal donation rewards
• Top donator status is honorary, not functional

Privacy Note

What's Public: Your name appears on Top Donators list if you're in top 10

What's Private: Exact donation amount is NOT displayed publicly

Opt-Out: No built-in way to hide from list (if you don't want public recognition, don't donate, or ask admin to zero your donation field)

Comparison to Other Rankings

Hall of Fame includes multiple leaderboards:

• Top Players: Ranked by level/experience
• Top VE Killers: Ranked by Voldemort Encounters
• Top PVP Fighters: Ranked by player kills
• Top Donators: Ranked by donations (this page)

Each represents different achievement: skill, grinding, combat, or financial support.

Why This Exists

Running a game server costs money (hosting, domain, maintenance). Servers survive on donations.

Top Donators page:

• Publicly thanks generous supporters
• Encourages others to donate (social proof: "If they donated, I should too")
• Creates friendly competition among supporters
• Makes donors feel appreciated

It's a simple thank-you gesture that also serves as soft fundraising encouragement.

Strategy (If You Want to Be Top Donator)

Step 1: Donate money to the server (PayPal/Stripe/etc.)

Step 2: Check Top Donators page to see current rankings

Step 3: Donate more than current #1 to become #1

Step 4: Maintain position by out-donating competitors

Cost Analysis:

• Top donator might have donated hundreds or thousands of dollars
• Competing for #1 is expensive (not recommended unless you're wealthy)
• Making top 10 is more achievable (might only need $50-$100+ depending on server)

Better Strategy: Donate what you can afford to support server you enjoy. Don't go broke chasing leaderboard position.

For Non-Donators

If you haven't donated:

• This page is just informational (see who supports server)
• No pressure to donate (free-to-play is fine)
• Consider donating if you can afford and enjoy game
• Even small donations help keep server running
