The Seasonal Event Desk

A small desk in the Prefect's Lounge staffed by a clerk who believes the castle's passing enthusiasms are "safer for everyone" when filed in one place. It sells nothing at all for most of the year. Then, on certain dates the calendar has decided matter, a window opens, a short list of commemorative badges becomes purchasable for Donator Points, and the window shuts again. The clerk leaves the stock list out year-round so you can stare at it while the desk is closed.

What It Is

The Seasonal Event Desk is a limited-time cosmetics counter. It carries one thing — commemorative badges — and it carries them only when their event is in season. A badge bought here is permanent, purely cosmetic, and capped at one per player: the ledger considers a single commemorative filing mistake to be entirely sufficient.

The desk does not sell power, stats, gold, or forest turns. It sells proof that you were standing in the right place on the right week of the year and were willing to itemize the feeling.

Where to Find It

The desk lives in the Prefect's Lounge (the Lodge). From the Lounge nav, look for "Seasonal Event Desk" under the Shop heading. When an event is live, the link helpfully counts down — e.g. "Seasonal Event Desk (3 days left)" — so you know how long you have to make a commemorative decision.

When It Opens

There are exactly four events, each pinned to a fixed window of the calendar. The desk is open only on those dates; the rest of the year it is shut "for the season," with the clerk gone and the stock list still on the counter.

EventWindowThe clerk's filing note
Back to HogwartsSep 1 – Sep 14A brief administrative festival in honor of timetables, trunks, and everyone pretending they meant to arrive on time.
Halloween Fright FestOct 15 – Oct 31A seasonal invitation to purchase tasteful gloom before it becomes ordinary winter gloom.
Christmas at the CastleDec 15 – Jan 1A perfectly reasonable winter market where sentiment and queueing are both considered festive activities. (This window politely wraps across New Year.)
Cupid's ArrowFeb 1 – Feb 14A short romantic retail window for people who prefer their feelings itemized and timestamped.

Only one event can be active on any given day, and most days none are. If no event is in season, the desk states as much and declines to sell you anything, no matter how festive you are feeling out of turn.

VIP Early Access

Active VIP members get a 2-day head start on every event. While VIP, you can shop the upcoming event two days before it opens to the general public; the desk announces this plainly — "opens to the general public in 2 days. As an active VIP member, you may shop now." Everyone else waits for the proper season, as the clerk prefers.

Stock & Currency

The only currency the desk accepts is Donator Points (DP). Your available balance is shown at the top of the desk before you buy. There is no gold price, no gem price, no token, no forest-turn trade — just DP, debited at purchase.

The current seeded stock, one badge per event:

Cupid's Arrow currently has its own event window but no badge filed against it — the clerk admits, when an event has no stock yet, that "the desk clerk has not filed any stock for this event yet." Stock is data-driven, so new badges can be added to any event without touching the desk itself.

Limited Items & Sell-Outs

Every badge carries a total available figure. By default this is 0, which the desk reads as unlimited — everyone who wants it and can afford it may buy one. But a badge can be capped: set a positive limit and once that many players have bought in, the item flips to "Sold out" for that event window and stays that way. The desk also tells you how many players have already purchased each item, in case you wanted to know exactly how exclusive your dread is.

Statuses you'll see next to each item:

  • Available now — the event is live (or you're a VIP in early access) and you don't own it yet. A Buy button appears.
  • Owned — you already filed this one. No second purchase; one is sufficient.
  • Out of season — a real item from a closed event. Visible, admire-able, not buyable.
  • Sold out — a capped item that hit its limit for this window.

How a Purchase Goes

  1. Open the desk during an active event (or VIP early access). Your DP balance is shown up top.
  2. Click Buy [Badge] (N DP) on an item marked "Available now."
  3. If you have the points, the desk approves it: "Purchase approved: [Badge] has been entered into your seasonal file." The DP is debited and the badge is granted to your cosmetics immediately.
  4. If anything blocks it, the clerk says why — and nothing is charged.

The whole thing is transactional: the DP debit, the purchase record, and the badge grant either all succeed together or the desk rolls them all back. The clerk will not take your points and forget your badge — though, if pressed, the ledger has been known to "become philosophical about ownership," at which point you simply try again.

Reasons a purchase is declined, each with its own message: you already own it, the item is not in season, you have insufficient DP, or the item has sold out for this window.

Strategy

  • It's cosmetic — buy for the badge, not the bonus. Nothing here affects combat, gold, or progression. The reward is the badge on your file and the smugness of having been timely.
  • Mind the calendar. Each window is short (two weeks at most, and Christmas straddles the year boundary). Miss it and the item goes "Out of season" until next year.
  • VIP buys you breathing room. The 2-day early window matters most for capped, limited-run badges — you can secure one before the general rush.
  • Bank your DP ahead of season. Prices run 200–250 DP per badge; have the points ready before the desk opens rather than scrambling on the last day left.

The Seasonal Event Desk: a counter that exists only when the castle decides the calendar matters, run by a clerk who has confused commemoration with administration and could not be happier about it.
