Quidditch

A fully playable sport where you train skills, buy equipment, and compete in matches. Flying broomsticks sold separately (but required).

Good News: Quidditch in Hogwarts Live is a complete playable system with training, equipment, positions, and tournaments. You can actually play matches, not just read about them. It's like FIFA, but with more broomsticks and fewer microtransactions.

What Is Quidditch in Hogwarts Live?

Quidditch is a fully implemented mini-game system where you can train six different skills, purchase equipment and broomsticks, choose a position (Chaser, Keeper, Beater, or Seeker), join a team (house teams or professional teams), and compete in matches to earn rewards, house points, and glory.

Unlike many game features that are just lore, Quidditch is actually playable. You'll spend gold and forest fights to train, buy better equipment to improve your performance, and compete in matches that are determined by your skills and equipment. It's a complete progression system with meaningful choices and rewards.

Getting Started

To start playing Quidditch, you need:

Visit the Quidditch Department in any village to get started. You'll find options for training, equipment shopping, and playing matches.

Training Skills

Quidditch has six trainable skills that affect your performance in matches. Each skill can be trained by spending gold and forest fights. As you train, you gain experience points (XP) in that skill, and when you accumulate enough XP, your skill rank increases.

⚡ Quickness

Speed and reaction time. Important for all positions, especially Seekers and Chasers.

🤸 Agility

Maneuverability and dodging ability. Crucial for Chasers and Beaters.

💪 Strength

Physical power. Essential for Beaters and Keepers.

👁️ Alertness

Awareness and perception. Critical for Seekers and Keepers.

🛡️ Constitution

Endurance and toughness. Important for Beaters and long matches.

✨ Style

Flair and showmanship. Affects crowd reactions and Seeker/Chaser performance.

Training Levels

As you train your skills, you'll progress through training levels that unlock better equipment and opportunities:

Equipment

Equipment improves your performance in matches. You can purchase broomsticks and protective gear from the Equipment Shop.

Broomsticks

Broomsticks are required to play matches and provide significant bonuses to your skills. Better brooms cost more but provide better bonuses:

Protective Equipment

You can also purchase protective equipment that provides small bonuses:

Positions

When you're ready to try out for a team, you'll choose a position. This choice is permanent, so choose wisely! Each position has different skill requirements and playstyles:

🏐 Chaser

Best Skills: Quickness, Agility, Style

Score goals with the Quaffle. Fast-paced, team-oriented position. You'll be passing, dodging, and shooting constantly.

🥅 Keeper

Best Skills: Alertness, Quickness, Strength

Defend the goal hoops. Like a goalkeeper, but with three goals to defend and opponents flying at you from all directions.

🏏 Beater

Best Skills: Strength, Constitution, Agility

Hit Bludgers at opponents. The most violent position. If you enjoy hitting things with bats, this is for you.

✨ Seeker

Best Skills: Alertness, Style, Quickness

Catch the Golden Snitch. The most prestigious position. High pressure, high reward. Harry Potter was a Seeker.

Teams

Once you've chosen a position, you can try out for a team. There are two types of teams:

House Teams

If you're sorted into a Hogwarts house, you can try out for your house team:

Winning matches for your house team earns house points (2-5 points per match, 3-15 points for tournament victories).

Professional Teams

Once you reach Pro training level (3 skills at rank 10+) and have at least 5 VEs, you can try out for professional teams:

Playing Matches

Once you have a broom, a position, a team, and at least Buff training level, you can play matches. Each match costs:

Match outcomes are determined by your skills, equipment, position, and a bit of luck. All positions have meaningful impact on the outcome — it's not just about the Seeker catching the Snitch. Chasers, Keepers, and Beaters all contribute to team scoring and Snitch catch probability.

Daily Tournament

Once per game day, you can participate in a Daily Tournament match for free (no gold cost, just forest fights). This is a great way to practice and earn rewards without spending gold.

Rewards

Playing Quidditch earns you:

Strategy Tips

  • Buy the best broom you can afford — it makes a huge difference
  • Play the Daily Tournament every day for free practice
  • Choose your position based on your playstyle, not just the "best" position
  • Save up for the Firebolt if you're serious about Quidditch — it's worth it
