Location & Access

Where: Inee's Pet Shoppe (Village), hidden ivy-covered door

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 PvP fight available
  • Not used today (once per day limit)
  • Not currently suffering guilt (2-day cooldown after being caught)
  • Only available in home village (where pet shoppe is located)

Blocked If:

  • No PvP fights remaining today
  • Already broke in today
  • Guilt active (caught recently, can't face Aberforth)

The Sequence

Part 1: Discovery (Pet Shoppe)

Description: "As you examine the shoppe, you spy a door, mostly hidden by dense ivy and a noisy cage of ravens."

Nav Option: "Examine Door" (only if you meet requirements)

Part 2: The Ivy-Covered Door

Approach: Hear drunken revelry sounds from door. Realize it's likely a magical portal to Hog's Head Inn in Hogsmeade.

Door Status: Flimsy, moves when pushed. Discover potentially lucrative secrets inside.

Temptation: Inee is busy with her animals, pays you no attention. Perfect opportunity for mischief.

Two Choices:

  • Force the Door: Break in (proceed to Part 3)
  • Forget it: Return to Inee's charm and unicorn (abort, no penalty)

Part 3: Inside the Office

Entry: Lean on door heavily, it gives way with crack as wood splinters around lock. You're in.

Office Contents:

  • Set of labeled keys (inn room keys)
  • Small ledger listing guests in each room
  • 5% Chance: Diamond ring on desk (one-time find)

Danger Awareness: Beyond open doorway, hear inn patrons talking. Realize how dangerous this is.

Two Choices:

  • Look at the Ledger: View PvP targets (25% chance of being caught!)
  • Forget it: Leave quietly, return to pet shoppe (abort, no penalty)

Part 4A: Looking at Ledger (If Not Caught)

Success (75% chance): View standard PvP ledger, same as forest.php PvP list.

Target Selection: Choose from list of inn guests (players currently in inn).

Attack: Standard PvP combat with &inn=1 flag.

Consequences After Attack: Guilt activates (2 days), can't access inn.

Part 4B: Getting Caught (25% Chance)

Caught!: "Before you can do anything, a powerful blow to the head knocks you to the ground. Aberforth stands over you, a wine bottle in one hand, scowling angrily."

Immediate Consequences:

  • Stocks (if stocks module active): Thrown into village stocks, public humiliation
  • HP Loss: Lose 50% of current HP (default), minimum 1 HP
  • Charm Loss: -3 charm (or current charm if <3, down to 0)
  • Partner Watches: Your partner sees the whole thing and frowns
  • Unconscious: "Moments later, you pass out from the pain in your head."

Optional Punishments (configurable):

  • PvP Wipe (default ON): Lose ALL remaining PvP fights today. "You don't feel like you can attack anyone today."
  • Robbery (default OFF): Guard takes % of gold and gems while you're unconscious

Guilt Mechanic (default ON):

  • Set to 2 days guilt
  • Cannot access inn for 2 days (blocked from all inn features)
  • Message: "You remember forcing that door, and the damage you caused to the lock and door frame, and you just can't bear to be in here a minute longer!"
  • Blocks: DAG, lottery, lovers, inn coupons, Seth's song, bartender, conversation, inn room

The Diamond Ring

Effect: Cannot access inn until guilt expires
