Bellatrix's Blessing
Graveyard service where Bellatrix Lestrange blesses your combat equipment using death magic. Cost: blesscost favor (default: 500). Choose blessing target: Robes (+25% defense, damageshield returns damage) OR Wand (+25% attack, lifetap heals from damage). Curse chance: cursechance % (default: 1%). If cursed: Robes = reduced defense + enemies gain +25% attack, Wand = reduced attack + enemies gain +25% defense. Multiplier system: Blessings start at basemultiplier (default: 1.0 = full 25% buff), decay over firstday days (default: 5), losing 1/firstday per newday. Curses start at cursemultiplier (default: 0.8 = 20% reduced), improve linearly over firstday days back to 1.0 (no effect). Lasts until dragonkill hook (VE reset clears blessing/curse). Extensive Harry Potter lore and dark magic flavor text. Where a murderous Death Eater uses death favor you earned from killing undead creatures to enchant your robes with damage-reflecting magic or your wand with life-stealing curses, but there's a 1% chance she's in a bad mood and sabotages your gear instead making you weaker while buffing your enemies, blessings slowly wear off over 5 days, curses gradually fade as dark magic dissipates, and killing the dragon resets everything because VE is a hard reset that purges all temporary enchantments.

Decay & Recovery System
How Decay Works (Blessings)
Initial Power: Blessings start at basemultiplier strength (default: 1.0 = full 25% buff)
Decay Rate: Lose 1/firstday power per newday (default: 1/5 = 20% per day)
Decay Duration: firstday days (default: 5 days)
Blessing Decay Example (firstday = 5, basemultiplier = 1.0):
| Day | Multiplier | Effective Bonus | Robes Defense Bonus | Wand Attack Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (first newday) | 1.0 | 100% | +25% def | +25% atk |
| 2 | 0.8 | 80% | +20% def | +20% atk |
| 3 | 0.6 | 60% | +15% def | +15% atk |
| 4 | 0.4 | 40% | +10% def | +10% atk |
| 5 | 0.2 | 20% | +5% def | +5% atk |
| 6+ | 0.0 | 0% | No effect | No effect |
Newday Messages (Blessing Decay):
- Day 2: "`4You feel Bellatrix's blessing beginning to fade.`0"
- Day 3: "`4Bellatrix's blessing continues to weaken.`0"
- Day 4: "`4Bellatrix's blessing is nearly gone.`0"
- Day 5: "`4Bellatrix's blessing has faded to a faint whisper.`0"
- Day 6+: "`4Bellatrix's blessing has completely dissipated.`0" (buff removed)
How Recovery Works (Curses)
Initial Penalty: Curses start at cursemultiplier strength (default: 0.8 = 20% reduced stats + 25% enemy buff)
Recovery Rate: Gain 1/firstday power per newday (default: 1/5 = 20% per day)
Recovery Duration: firstday days (default: 5 days)
Curse Recovery Example (firstday = 5, cursemultiplier = 0.8):
| Day | Multiplier | Your Penalty | Enemy Buff | Net Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (first newday) | 0.8 | -20% stat | +25% enemy | Very bad |
| 2 | 0.84 | -16% stat | +25% enemy | Bad |
| 3 | 0.88 | -12% stat | +25% enemy | Still bad |
| 4 | 0.92 | -8% stat | +25% enemy | Improving |
| 5 | 0.96 | -4% stat | +25% enemy | Almost gone |
| 6+ | 1.0 | No penalty | +25% enemy | Enemy buff persists! |
IMPORTANT: Enemy buff (+25% attack or defense) is PERMANENT and does NOT decay. Only your personal stat penalty recovers. After 5 days, you have normal stats, but enemies are still buffed until VE.
Newday Messages (Curse Recovery):
- Day 2: "`2The curse weakens slightly. You feel less burdened.`0"
- Day 3: "`2Bellatrix's curse continues to fade.`0"
- Day 4: "`2The curse is nearly lifted.`0"
- Day 5: "`2You feel almost free of the curse.`0"
- Day 6+: "`2The curse on you has lifted, but your enemies remain empowered.`0"
VE Reset (Dragonkill)
Trigger: dragonkill hook
Effect: ALL blessing/curse prefs reset to 0
- bellatrixblessed = 0
- bellatrixcursed = 0
- bellatrixarmor = 0
- bellatrixweapon = 0
- currmultiplier reset
- firstday reset
Message: "`4Bellatrix's blessing/curse has been purged by your victory over the dragon.`0"
Consequence: Must pay 500 favor again to re-bless equipment. Blessing doesn't carry over to next VE.
Strategy Implication: Get blessing early in VE cycle to maximize duration. Don't bless day before dragon kill (wasted favor).
Probability & Risk Analysis
Blessing vs Curse Odds
| Outcome | Probability | Expected Occurrences (100 attempts) |
|---|---|---|
| Successful Blessing | 99% | 99 times |
| Cursed Instead | 1% | 1 time |
Expected Value Analysis:
- 99% chance: Get +25% atk or def, lifetap/damageshield, decaying over 5 days
- 1% chance: Get -20% stat, enemies buffed +25%, recovering over 5 days
- Expected outcome: Almost always positive. 1% curse risk acceptable for 99% blessing chance.
Is Cursing Worth the Fear?
No. 1% is very low. Statistically, you'll be cursed once every 100 blessings. Most players never get cursed.
If You Get Cursed:
- Don't panic. Curse fades over 5 days.
- Day 1-2: Very weak. Avoid hard fights (dragon, high-level PvP).
- Day 3-5: Manageable. Can fight with caution.
- Day 6+: Your penalty gone, but enemies still buffed until VE.
Alternative: Admin can set cursechance to 0 (no curse risk). Check server settings.
Strategy
Robes vs Wand: Which to Bless?
Bless Robes (Defense + Damageshield) if:
- You fight high-damage enemies (dragon, tough forest creatures)
- You struggle with survivability
- Damageshield appeals to you (reflect 10% damage back)
- You prefer defensive playstyle
Bless Wand (Attack + Lifetap) if:
- You want faster kills (more damage = quicker fights)
- Lifetap healing is valuable to you (10% damage dealt heals you)
- You have good defense already (equipment, buffs)
- You prefer aggressive playstyle
General Recommendation: Wand (attack) slightly better for most players. Faster kills = less damage taken overall. Lifetap provides healing. Offense is best defense.
When to Get Blessed
Best Timing:
- Early VE: Get blessing soon after reset. Maximize duration before next dragonkill.
- Pre-Dragon Fight: Blessing decays over 5 days but still provides 60-80% power for days 2-3. Get blessed 1-2 days before dragon attempt for strong buff.
- Have 500+ Favor: Don't spend last favor on blessing. Keep reserves for resurrections, other graveyard services.
When to Avoid:
- Day before dragonkill (will reset, wasted favor)
- If you have < 500 favor (can't afford it)
- If you're already blessed (can't re-bless until VE reset)
Maximizing Blessing Value
- Day 1-2: Blessing at 80-100% power. Fight hardest content (dragon, high-level PvP, tough forest creatures).
- Day 3-4: Blessing at 40-60% power. Still useful. Continue normal fighting schedule.
- Day 5+: Blessing at 0-20% power. Minimal effect. Consider this "bonus days" after blessing expires.
If Cursed: Damage Control
- Don't fight dragon: Wait until curse recovers (day 4+).
- Avoid PvP: -20% stat + enemy +25% = you'll lose badly.
- Fight easy forest creatures: Low-risk fights until recovery.
- Use buffs/potions: Counteract curse penalties with external buffs.
- Wait it out: 5 days = curse mostly gone. Patience pays off.

Lore & Flavor
Bellatrix Lestrange: Notorious Death Eater. Sadistic, unpredictable, loyal to Voldemort. Uses death magic for blessings/curses. Takes pleasure in pain (yours and others').
Death Favor as Currency: You earned favor by killing undead in graveyard. Bellatrix values this dark power. Uses it as payment for dark enchantments.
Dark Magic Themes:
- Robes Blessing: Protective wards woven into fabric. Damageshield = reflected curse energy.
- Wand Blessing: Dark Lord's power channeled through wand. Lifetap = life-stealing curse.
- Curses: Sabotage. Bellatrix's cruel joke. Your equipment betrays you.
- Decay: Dark magic fades over time. Requires renewal (re-blessing after VE).
Harry Potter References:
- Parseltongue incantations (snake language)
- Dark Lord's power (Voldemort)
- Death Eater aesthetics (malice, dark magic)
- Bellatrix's personality: cackling, sadistic, unpredictable
Risk vs Reward: Classic dark magic trope. Great power, but cursed 1% of time. Faustian bargain. Worth the risk?
Common Questions
Q: Can I have both robes and wand blessed?
A: No. Choose one per VE. After VE reset, can re-bless (either same or different choice).
Q: If I get cursed, can I try again immediately?
A: No. One blessing attempt per VE. Cursed = stuck until dragonkill resets.
Q: Does the blessing last forever?
A: No. Decays over 5 days (default). Also resets at dragonkill (VE). Must re-bless each VE.
Q: If cursed, does the enemy buff ever go away?
A: Not until dragonkill. Your stat penalty recovers over 5 days, but enemy +25% buff persists until VE reset.
Q: Can I remove a curse early?
A: No removal mechanic. Wait for 5-day recovery or dragonkill reset.
Q: Does blessing stack with other buffs?
A: Yes. Blessing buffs stack with potions, spells, equipment, companion. Multiply benefits.
Q: What happens if I bless then immediately kill dragon?
A: VE dragonkill hook resets blessing. You lose it. Wasted 500 favor. Don't bless right before dragon kill.
Q: Can admin set cursechance to 0?
A: Yes. Setting cursechance = 0 means 100% blessing success, no curse risk.
Bellatrix's Blessing: where you spend 500 death favor earned from murdering undead creatures to have a cackling Death Eater enchant your combat robes with damage-reflecting wards or your wand with life-stealing curses, there's a 1% chance she sabotages you instead making you weaker while buffing all your enemies, blessings start at full 25% power but decay by 20% per day over 5 days until they're completely gone, curses start at 20% penalty but recover linearly as dark magic dissipates though the enemy buff never fades until you kill a dragon, killing said dragon resets everything forcing you to spend another 500 favor if you want the blessing back next VE cycle, and the whole system is a masterclass in "pay recurring subscription fees for temporary buffs that degrade over time" game design wrapped in Harry Potter dark magic aesthetics.
