Advent Calendar

REMINDER FOR EVERYONE TO GO TO YOUR COMMON ROOM AND SIGN UP FOR YOUR HOUSE MAILING LIST, IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT ALREADY. HEADS OF HOUSES USE THIS SYSTEM TO SEND IMPORTANT MESSAGES TO THEIR HOUSE MEMBERS. THANKS!

We have decided to add a little extra to the mix this holiday season and have an Advent calendar of sorts.

Every evening from now until Christmas, we will be choosing, at random, one player to receive 50 gems as we count down the days until the THE BIG DAY.

At 8:30pm Eastern, we will see how many players are online at that time and then use that information to pick a completely random number on random.org. Then we will count down from the top of the list and award the 50 gems to whomever is in that slot.

So, in order to be eligible for each day's drawing, you HAVE TO BE ONLINE AT 8:30PM EASTERN.

i think that you should have to have 2 VE's to get it so no n00bs can get gems and then never log on again

Not everyone with less than 2 VEs is a n00b >.>

I think only yearlings should win because they have a harder time starting out. Why does it matter if they win and don't log in again? Those gems wouldn't have been available for anyone else anyway. Maybe by winning, they will be encouraged to stay.

That definitely teased me Dx All I saw was "congrats, Amber!" And then I was like What?!? :D. I then continued to scroll up and saw the name "Amberwood" and my heart sank. But oh well. Congrats Amber!

i think the time is unfair for instance for the UK it would be half 1 a.m any younger players wouldn't hav a chance to be entered in the draw, and any older players may have to work the next day. Surely any future events like this should be try scheduled for a more appropriate/inappropriate for every one? even half 5 eastern time would be better?

Nimrod. It's going to be unfair ANYWHERE. If you pick 5:30pm Eastern time, then it's going to be 1:30am in Finland and parts of Europe. If you pick 8:30am Eastern time, it will be 1:30am in parts of Russia and New Zealand.

What about those people then, hm?
